Nancy Pelosi admitted that there was no communication between her and former President Joe Biden after the former chairman of the room was asked about former first lady Jill Biden, reported her disappointment in an interview with Andrea Mitchell of MSNBC on Thursday.
Pelosi, who still represents San Francisco in Congress, said she had not spoken to Bidens since their fall last summer, when the long Democrat joined the party’s power mediator to postpone the then president from the race in sequel and his catastrophic performance of debate during the summer.
The mass left a sour taste in the mouth of Bidens. Last month, Jill Biden told The Washington Post that Pelosi’s actions were “disappointing” in the light of “we were friends for 50 years”.
In response, Alexandra Pelosi, the former-speaker’s daughter, went into Jill Biden comparing her to Mrs. Macbeth’s hungry by Shakespeare.
Mitchell asked Pelosi about Jill Biden’s comments on Thursday. The veteran journalist, whose last day as a MSNBC anchor is Friday, asked if there was a chance for Pelosi and Bidens to “Patch it”.
The former chairman accepted the tension and said she had not spoken to any of Bidens since their fall.
“I certainly hope [to patch things up]. No, I don’t have [spoken to her]“Pelosi admitted to Mitchell.
“The fact is that we are all on a mission for the American people, for families working in America. All my passion to be in politics is for children,” Pelosi said, bypassing the issue.
During the interview, Mitchell asked Pelosi about Joe Biden’s claim that he could have won the election if he had not been pressured to set aside.
Pelosi, 84, would not address Biden’s claims. Instead, she sought to put a positive rotation in the party’s performance in the November elections, which saw the Republicans scoring a trifeta capturing the White House, the Senate and the room.
“All I know is that we have won a place at home. We have not lost any place,” Pelosi said.
“You know, people were like,” Whoa, Democrats lost. “No, we didn’t.”
Pelosi added: “I think it would have been quite different with President Biden at the top of the ticket.”
Pelosi joined her political efforts as part of a bigger battle against President Trump, stating that preventing his return to the White House had been a major motivator in her decisions.
“I think it would be important for children not to have Donald Trump to be president of the United States. And that is, I will take every step needed to make sure it didn’t happen,” she said .
“But it happened. And now we have to deal with it. “
Despite the democratic loss in the presidential race, Pelosi expressed confidence that the political landscape would move in the coming months.
“In about six or seven months, you will see such a change,” she predicted.
“By the time we start our campaigns this fall for next fall, you will see a very different picture for Democrats opposite Donald Trump.”
On July 21, Joe Biden announced that he was withdrawing from the presidential race. He quickly approved his vice president, Kamala Harris.
In later interviews, Pelosi said the goal was for the Democrats to promote Biden abroad and then organize a truncated primary primary that would include a field of several candidates.
But the approval of Harris’s Lightning district irritated those plans.
“Had the president come out soon, there may have been other candidates in the race,” Pelosi told the New York Times day after Trump shocked Harris in the general election.
“The prediction was that if the president was to withdraw, there would be an open primary.”
The post has requested comment from Bidens.
