Flag news in ABC, CBS and NBC spent over 46 minutes covering President Trump pardoning the January 6 defendants, but they could hardly find time to mention former President Joe Biden, issuing preempt for his family, according to one New study.
During the last hours of his administration last week, Biden issued prior apology to relatives James B. Biden, Sara Jones Biden, Valerie Biden Owens, John T. Owens and Francis W. Biden. On the same day, Trump was signed in pardon more than 1,500 accused of crimes arising from January 6, 2021, an attack on the US Capitol, shortly after the office was restored.
The Media Research Center analyzed the morning news and the evening of the flag at ABC, CBS and NBC from the day of inauguration on January 20 to the morning of January 22 to determine how the pardons were covered. While the order pair occurred on the same day, the coverage was not exactly balanced.
Conservative media supervisor found that ABC, CBS and NBC spent 46 minutes and 32 seconds in Trump’s prayers, compared to only three minutes and 32 seconds in biden preemptive prayers.
“Good Morning America” and “World News Tonight” of ABC spent 15 minutes and 30 seconds in Trump’s apologies compared to a short 34 seconds in Biden.
“CBS Mornings” and “CBS Evening News” cost 16 minutes and 32 seconds Trump’s apologies compared to only 64 seconds in apologies scattered by biden while “today” and “NBC NBC” passed 14 minutes 30 seconds in Trump and less than two minutes in Biden.
Trump previously promised that he would “act very quickly” his first day in office to forgive the so -called “hostages”, an act that angered critics and promoted criticism that he was justifying violence against the police. Biden in advance by pardoning his family was also criticized by political rivals, but she only received a slide of coverage that his successor received.
Trump opened about the pardon of defendants on January 6 last week during an exclusive Oval office interview with the host News Hannity host.
“Why did they get forgiveness?” Asked Hannity.

Biden was asked in 2020 about reports that then President Trump was considering preliminary apology to members of his family and even himself.
“Well, it worries me about what kind of precedent he decides and as the rest of the world looks at us as a nation of laws and justice,” Biden to the anchor Jake Tapper told the anchor at the time.
